Venezia head coach Giovanni Stroppa has described Super Eagles striker Akor Adams as a good player, while pointing to areas where he wants him to sharpen his game.
Adams joined Venezia from Sevilla for around €17 million and marked his debut for the club with a brace against Modena in the Coppa Italia. He is still searching for his first Serie A goal after two league appearances since that arrival.
“There Is Always Room For Improvement”
Speaking to pazzidifanta, Stroppa said Adams applies the right pressing instincts, makes good runs in behind and drives at goal, calling him a good player on the tactical side. He added that there is always room for improvement on the technical side, suggesting sharpening his overall defensive duties would help him develop into a more complete striker for Serie A.
Missing Chances, Not Performance
Stroppa also reflected on Venezia’s broader form, saying the team played a strong first half in a recent match but were let down by their inability to convert chances into goals. He said the performances have generally been satisfactory, but that too many created opportunities have gone unconverted, costing the team points it should have picked up. He called for greater discipline and tighter distances between the lines going forward.
