El-Kanemi Warriors have arrived safely at the Osvaldo Vieira International Airport in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau, ahead of the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round tie against UDIB. The Emmanuel King-coached side land in the country in good condition, carrying a commanding 3-0 advantage from the first leg played in Ikenne.
King Encouraged But Wary
Speaking after the emphatic first leg win, head coach Emmanuel King praised his players’ effort while stressing that there is still plenty of room for improvement, pointing out that the squad has only been together for around four weeks and is still finding its feet. Asked whether he was fully satisfied with the team’s performance, he said, “We have not arrived at that point. We are still participating. But at the right time, when we get there, you will see,” striking a note of cautious optimism.
Building Fitness And Confidence
King also commended the players for their hard work, particularly the physical improvements the squad has made since coming together, and said the three goal cushion had boosted his belief in the team’s chances of advancing, describing the result as giving him higher hopes for the tie.
