San Pedro FC delegation arriving in Uyo

Ivorian side San Pedro FC have arrived in Uyo ahead of the second leg of their CAF Champions League first preliminary round tie against Rivers United. The delegation landed at the Victor Attah International Airport at around 4:21pm on Friday and were received by officials from both Rivers United and the Akwa Ibom State Football Association.

Settling In Ahead Of Sunday’s Clash

San Pedro have since checked into their hotel in Uyo as they prepare for the return leg, scheduled for Sunday, September 13, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium. The visitors are due to hold their mandatory pre-match training session at the venue at 4pm on Saturday, with the opening 15 minutes open to fans and journalists.

A Finely Poised Tie

Rivers United go into the second leg with a slight edge after securing a 1-1 draw away in the first leg. The Nigerian champions will be looking to make home advantage count and book their place in the next round of the CAF Champions League, while San Pedro will be hoping to spring a surprise in Uyo and keep their continental campaign alive.
