Super Falcons defender Osinachi Ohale says she and her teammates fully understand what is at stake as Nigeria prepare to face Egypt in their final Group C fixture at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The Super Falcons got their campaign back on track with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Zambia in their second group match. Asisat Oshoala’s first-half strike proved enough to secure all three points for the reigning African champions, who played most of the match with 10 players after Tosin Demehin was shown a red card.
Ohale Stresses The Stakes
Nigeria now face another must-win encounter against Egypt and will also be hoping for a favourable result in the other Group C fixture between Zambia and Malawi. Speaking at Tuesday’s pre-match press conference, Ohale stressed that the Egypt clash carries even greater significance than the team’s first two group games, insisting the squad is fully aware of what is on the line. “We already know what is at stake,” she said, adding that the team intends to approach the match with total seriousness and improve on their previous performance.
