Nigeria were reduced to ten players shortly before the hour mark when Elizabeth Adesuyi was shown a red card. Ghana capitalised quickly, with Seidatu Wahab pulling a goal back four minutes later to set up a tense finish.
Dunstan And Akanji Seal The Win
The Flamingos responded well to the setback, restoring their two goal advantage when Mary Dunstan pounced on a defensive error to make it 3-1. Kaosarat Akanji added a fourth three minutes from time before Gloria Ameaa netted Ghana’s second goal on the stroke of 90 minutes. Despite playing the closing stages a player down, Nigeria held on to secure the 4-2 win.
