Defending champions Nigeria’s Super Falcons have arrived in Rabat, Morocco, ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where they will begin the defence of their continental crown.
The squad stepped off the team bus in coordinated green and white tie-dye African outfits with matching traditional headwraps, projecting confidence ahead of the tournament.
Justine Madugu’s side spent the last ten days in Casablanca fine tuning preparations, with the camp culminating in a 2-1 friendly win over Tanzania’s Twiga Stars on Thursday. Captain Rasheedat Ajibade and AFC Toronto striker Esther Okoronkwo were both on target in that win.
The Super Falcons will play all their Group C fixtures in Rabat, opening against tournament debutants Malawi at the Al Madina Stadium on Tuesday. They then return to the same venue to face Zambia’s Copper Queens, before closing out the group stage against Egypt’s Cleopatras at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat.
Nigeria, the record 10 time African champions, are chasing an 11th WAFCON title and will be among the favourites to lift the trophy once again in Morocco.
