Newly promoted Doma United travel to Kano to face Kano Pillars in matchday four of the NPFL on Sunday, September 20, at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
Doma United’s Flying Start
Doma United sit top of the 2026/27 NPFL table with a maximum nine points from three matches, having scored five goals and conceded none. The Gombe-based side opened their campaign with a 2-0 win over Sporting Lagos, edged past Inter Lagos 1-0, and then produced a shock 2-0 win over former champions Enyimba. Coach Deji Ayeni’s side have been the early pace setters following their promotion, and will hope to extend that run against Pillars.
Pillars Seek Consistency
Kano Pillars, under coach Daniel Ogunmodede, have four points from two matches and sit seventh, following a 2-2 draw away to Kwara United and a 3-2 win over Niger Tornadoes. Pillars will be looking to use home advantage to close the gap on the league leaders.
Can Barau Keep Their Unbeaten Run Going?
Elsewhere, another surprise package this season, Barau FC, will look to maintain their unbeaten start when they visit Ikorodu City on Saturday. Barau sit second on seven points after three matches, with two wins and a draw, while Ikorodu City, also unbeaten after two games, occupy fifth place on four points.
Enyimba, Warri Wolves And Inter Lagos Chase First Points
Three clubs will enter matchday four still searching for their first points of the season: Enyimba, who sit 18th, Warri Wolves in 19th, and bottom side Inter Lagos, who have lost all three of their opening matches.
