AC Milan have publicly praised Samuel Chukwueze after the winger picked up his second Serie A assist of the season in Sunday’s 1-1 draw away to Juventus. Chukwueze, introduced from the bench in the second half, teed up Alphadjo Cisse to put Milan ahead, only for Juventus to snatch a stoppage time equaliser through Federico Gatti.
It was Chukwueze’s second assist in the league this term, following his first back in Milan’s opening weekend win over Torino. The club marked the moment on social media with a short post celebrating the Nigerian’s contribution.
A New Lease Of Life Under Amorim
Chukwueze looks like a rejuvenated player since Ruben Amorim took charge, having returned to Milan following a 2025/26 loan spell at Fulham. Amorim has largely used him as a right wing-back in a 3-4-2-1 system that leans on work rate and directness rather than pure defensive discipline.
Speaking on the winger’s defensive progress in the role, Amorim said defending is a matter of spirit and character, qualities he believes Chukwueze has in abundance, adding that he has grown noticeably in that side of his game.
The setup appears to be bringing out the best in Chukwueze’s pace, dribbling and directness, and his early season form has been one of the more encouraging stories at San Siro.
