Akpoguma Agrees Two Year Deal With Serie A Club

Kevin Akpoguma is on the verge of joining newly promoted Serie A club Frosinone, after the Italian side struck an agreement to sign the central defender.
According to transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Akpoguma is set to arrive in Italy this week to undergo his medical and sign a contract that will keep him at Frosinone until 2028.
The Nigerian defender became a free agent after his contract with Bundesliga side Hoffenheim expired. He made just nine appearances across all competitions for Hoffenheim last season.
Akpoguma’s move brings an end to a 13 year association with Hoffenheim, having joined the Bundesliga club from Karlsruher in 2013. During his time there, he gained valuable experience on loan at Fortuna Dusseldorf and Hannover 96 before establishing himself as a regular in Hoffenheim’s first team.
He represented Germany at youth level before switching international allegiance to Nigeria, going on to make eight appearances for the Super Eagles.
Frosinone earned promotion to Serie A last season after finishing second behind Venezia in Serie B.
