Samuel Chukwueze made his mark once again from the bench on Sunday, setting up AC Milan’s opener in a Serie A clash with Juventus that ultimately finished 1-1. It is the Super Eagles winger’s second league assist of the season, having also teed up a goal in Milan’s opening-day win over Torino.
Chukwueze’s Impact Off The Bench
The first half was cagey and goalless, with Juventus edging the chances while Milan stayed compact under new coach Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese made a round of substitutions after the hour mark that changed the game, with Chukwueze one of those introduced. Shortly after coming on, he picked out Alphadjo Cissé with a long ball; the forward controlled it on the left edge of the box, cut past Manuel Locatelli and finished low to put Milan ahead.
Juventus were not done, though, and kept pushing for a leveller. It arrived in the 92nd minute, Federico Gatti rising to meet a Teun Koopmeiners free kick delivery and heading powerfully past the goalkeeper to make it 1-1 and deny Milan the win.

Both sides remain unbeaten after three matches, level on seven points from two wins and a draw apiece, sitting fourth and fifth respectively, two points off early leaders Roma and Inter.

Chukwueze has impressed since returning to Milan following a season long loan at Fulham, with Amorim using him primarily as a right wing back in a 3-4-2-1 setup that leans on his work rate and ball carrying rather than pure defensive duties. The system appears to suit his pace and directness, and he is steadily building a reputation as a useful, high energy option on Milan’s right flank this season.
