Super Eagles legend Austin Okocha was on hand to help unveil his former club Eintracht Frankfurt’s new adidas away kit for the 2026/2027 season.
Okocha, who played for Frankfurt between 1992 and 1996, was chosen alongside current captain Robin Koch to present the club’s latest jersey. The new white away shirt pays tribute to the club’s history, featuring the eagle crest the club wore through the 1980s and early 1990s, a period closely tied to some of Frankfurt’s biggest honours.
Speaking after the unveiling on the club’s official website, Okocha called it a great honour to present the shirt, noting he never actually played in an all white kit himself but said the colour carries deep meaning tied to the club’s successes in the 1970s and 80s. He credited his time in Frankfurt with shaping him as a professional, saying, “I owe a huge amount to the club.”
Eintracht Frankfurt said the new jersey blends traditional identity with a modern look, built around a tonal, vertical striped pattern using two different weaving techniques, with black detailing for contrast. The club explained that the eagle crest on the shirt, first introduced in 1977, is tied directly to some of its greatest triumphs, including the 1980 UEFA Cup win and DFB Cup victories in 1981 and 1988.
