At a modest ceremony in Lafia on Friday evening, Nasarawa Unitedโs Chairman, Solomon Babanjah, unveiled the clubโs new jerseys in the presence of the Nasarawa State Acting Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe, and the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Kwanta Yakubu.
The kits, designed by China-based Elite King Sports Limited, owned by former Nigerian junior international Tunde Seun Olokigbe, combine bold colours with sleek patterns, offering both comfort and style. With six distinct options created for home, away, and neutral outings, the club hopes to make a strong impression on and off the field.
Speaking at the event, Babanjah, alongside Board Member and Media Director, Eche Amos, emphasised that the new jerseys embody the spirit and values of the Solid Miners. Dr. Akabe praised the clubโs initiative and offered his best wishes for the new NPFL season, which kicked off on 22nd August 2025.

Yakubu noted that the Acting Governorโs approval of the kits highlights the administrationโs commitment to sports development under Governor Abdullahi Sule. He added that the striking designs are expected to energise the players as they face Niger Tornadoes next Wednesday in a rescheduled league fixture at the Kwara State Stadium in Ilorin.
Currently, the Solid Miners are camped in Abuja, preparing for the North Central derby clash at 4pm.
Editorial
We believe that moments like the unveiling of new kits carry more weight than simple aesthetics. Football kits are symbols of pride, representing not just the players who wear them but also the supporters whose passion fuels the game. Nasarawa Unitedโs bold decision to introduce six designs shows ambition, and ambition is exactly what Nigerian clubs need to match their counterparts on the continent.
We often speak of professionalism in Nigerian football, and this unveiling is a step in that direction. Partnering with an international sports company with Nigerian roots ensures that our teams are not left behind in the global conversation. Kits that marry identity with comfort give players an extra psychological lift, something often underestimated in competitive sport.
The presence of the Acting Governor and the Sports Commissioner also underlines a crucial point: when governments take sports seriously, teams thrive. We must continue to see political leaders actively support our clubs, not just with rhetoric but with visible actions like this.
As the Solid Miners head into the season, the new kits should serve as a reminder of higher expectations. We must demand consistency, discipline, and performance that reflects the boldness of the jerseys. Jerseys alone do not win matches, but they can inspire unity. And unity is what our football needs to reach new heights.
