Nasarawa United’s players have received a ₦1 million reward after their 2-0 win over Inter Lagos at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos, on Sunday night. The Solid Miners earned it. It was their first away win of the 2026/27 NPFL season and the biggest away win in the club’s history.

Nasarawa State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Jibril Abdullahi Ibrahim and the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Stephen Iliya Sasetu, handed over the money. It was given in recognition of the team’s performance and the historic nature of the win. Fans following the NPFL can read Bet9ja’s promotion code page before the next round.

Kelechi Ogbobo opened the scoring in the 11th minute. Ugochukwu Leonard doubled the lead just five minutes later.

Two goals inside 16 minutes put the visitors in command, and that was enough to see the game out.

The win lifts coach Mbwas Mangut’s side to fifth in the NPFL table, with 14 points from nine matches. They are level on points with Plateau United, who sit fourth on the same total after losing 3-2 at home to Sporting Lagos.

Away wins are hard to come by in the NPFL, and Nasarawa had not won one all season before Sunday. That makes this result a big one. NPFL fans who enjoy calling the results can try Bet9ja’s Super9ja predictor.

The cash gift also shows how much support the team has behind it. Leadership reported that the squad received ₦500,000 after an earlier home win over Ikorodu City, so Sunday’s reward is twice that.

Nasarawa now turn to Enyimba, the nine-time league champions, in their Matchday 10 fixture at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday, October 25. Kickoff is at 4pm.

Enyimba are a tougher test than Inter Lagos, but Nasarawa will be at home and full of confidence. A win would push them further up a tight table.

Supporters planning to back the Solid Miners can check the Bet9ja YOHAIG offer before Sunday’s kickoff.
