Warri Wolves captain David Joseph has called the Seasiders’ 0-0 draw away to Enyimba a precious point. The result came in Matchday 9 of the 2026/27 NPFL at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba on Sunday.
It was only Warri Wolves’ second point on the road this season. Their first away point also came from a draw, at Niger Tornadoes in Minna on September 25. NPFL fans can try Super9ja’s free jackpot entry before the next round.
Joseph could not hide his delight afterwards, shouting “Precious! Precious, precious” when asked how much the point meant. He said Enyimba were still below 15th in the table, so the point lifted Wolves above them.
Enyimba, the nine time league champions, dominated the first half while Warri Wolves defended most of the time. After the break the visitors came out stronger, but neither side found a breakthrough.
Joseph admitted the Seasiders should have won it. They stayed compact and waited to counter, and he said some late counter attacking chances should have been finished off.
He stressed that the plan was deliberate: stay compact and frustrate the hosts in the first half, then attack on the counter after the break. It worked, apart from the finishing. New Bet9ja users can claim the YOHAIG sign-up code before Matchday 10.
Warri Wolves’ first eight games reportedly brought three wins, one draw and four defeats, so this point leaves them on 11 from nine matches. That’s a solid base, but they need more away points.
Two points from away trips isn’t a lot, but a clean sheet at Enyimba is a good sign for the defence. Warri Wolves defended well enough in Aba, and the next job is to turn that into wins.
Warri Wolves now host Kano Pillars on Sunday, October 25. A home game is a chance to turn a good point into a good week, and the Seasiders will want all three points.
