Remo Stars goalkeeper Kayode Bankole has described his current time in the Super Eagles camp as nothing short of amazing. The young shot-stopper is revelling in the experience of training alongside Nigeria’s top football talents as the team prepares for a critical World Cup qualifier.
Bankole, who has earned back to back best goalkeeper awards in the Nigerian league, expressed his delight at finally receiving a national team call-up. “It’s a great feeling for me, being in the midst of the big boys and superstars. It’s simply amazing,” he said.
Before arriving at camp, Bankole consulted with familiar faces Coach Daniel Ogunmodede of Remo Stars and Rangers’ Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu who encouraged him to savour the opportunity.
While aware that his chances of starting for the Super Eagles might not come immediately, Bankole remains determined and patient. “Getting the call-up is a great feeling, but it also means I have to work harder. There’s a big task ahead because everyone expects Nigeria to qualify for the World Cup, and I know we can do it. Impossible is nothing with God on our side.”
The young goalkeeper expressed gratitude to all who supported his journey and made his invitation to the national team possible. “It’s also my chance to move higher. I just kept doing my best, and I knew one day the opportunity would come. I’m so glad it finally has,” he said with joy.

We can’t help but share Kayode Bankole’s excitement. Watching a player rise from local league recognition to national team inclusion is always heartwarming. His journey is a testament to persistence, patience, and the importance of consistent hard work.
Bankole’s humility and determination shine through his words. He recognises that stepping into the Super Eagles camp is not just a reward but a fresh challenge. His willingness to learn, combined with his confidence, speaks volumes about his character. Nigeria needs goalkeepers who are not only talented but also mentally strong, and Bankole seems to fit that profile.
What excites us most is that he isn’t overwhelmed by the occasion. Instead, he sees it as motivation to push further. Young talents need these moments to understand that opportunities come to those who persevere, and Bankole’s story could inspire others striving for recognition.
We also commend the Super Eagles coaching staff for giving home-based players a chance. It reinforces the message that the Nigerian league can produce top-class talent worthy of national representation. We hope Bankole continues to make the most of his time in camp, learning from senior players and preparing for the day when his name is called to guard the posts for Nigeria in competitive fixtures.
As we look ahead to crucial matches, we are excited about the potential of young stars like Bankole. His presence in camp is not just a personal victory but a reminder of the bright future Nigerian football holds.
