Edo Queens have announced the signing of Ghanaian goalkeeper Charlotte Adjei as they prepare for the upcoming NWFL Premiership campaign. Adjei, fresh off earning the Goalkeeper of the Season award in Nigeria’s top women’s league, brings experience and recognition to bolster the Benin City side’s squad.
The official presentation was held in Benin City and attended by the Edo State Sports Commission’s executive chairman, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, along with the club’s general manager, Rollanson Odeh. Both expressed optimism that Adjei’s proven talent will enhance the team’s performance domestically and in continental competitions.
In her debut season with Remo Stars Ladies, Adjei kept ten clean sheets in 19 league outings and received ₦200,000 from the Judith Chime Foundation for her “Safe Hands” award. Her performances in the CAF Women’s Champions League with Rivers Angels and Ampem Darkoa solidified her reputation across West Africa.
Adjei now joins Edo Queens as they target a strong campaign at home and abroad, adding depth and quality to their goalkeeping department ahead of the new season.
