Comoros have named a 22 player squad for their 2028 Olympic Games qualifying tie against Nigeria’s Super Falcons. The squad has three goalkeepers, five defenders, seven midfielders and seven forwards.

The second round tie is played over two legs, with the first on Friday, October 9 and the return on Tuesday, October 13. Both matches will take place at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State, because Comoros don’t have a CAF-approved venue for international games.

The Comoros delegation, including players and officials, is expected to arrive in Nigeria this weekend. The aggregate winner advances to the third round of the qualifiers.

The Super Falcons’ Squad

Interim coach Augustine Eguavoen named 28 players on Tuesday, September 29, led by captain Rasheedat Ajibade and goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie. They report to the AM2PM Hotel in Ijebu-Ode on Saturday, October 3.

Asisat Oshoala, Toni Payne and Ashleigh Plumptre are also in the squad, with Plumptre recalled after missing the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations through injury. Bettors following the tie can check the Bet9ja promo code FAQ.

Benfica provide three players: defender Oluwatosin Demehin and forwards Flourish Sabastine and Janet Akekoromowei. Several young players could make their senior debuts.

What Is at Stake

Nigeria need to win the tie on aggregate to move on. The winner will face either DR Congo or Morocco in the third round, scheduled for February 23 to March 6, 2027.

Only two African nations will qualify for the Olympic tournament in Los Angeles in July 2028, and the qualifying campaign runs until December 2027. New bettors weighing up the qualifiers can read Bet9ja’s step-by-step promo guide.

Eguavoen is in charge on an interim basis, and the squad mixes experienced names with youngsters, including players who starred for the Flamingos at the WAFU B Girls Cup in Côte d’Ivoire.

Because both games are in Ikenne, Nigeria will have home support in the first leg even though Comoros are the designated hosts.
