Emmanuel Deutsch says a three game unbeaten run is no reason to relax, as Enyimba head for Katsina with a difficult start behind them.

Deutsch keeps feet on the ground
Enyimba technical adviser Emmanuel Deutsch says his players must not get carried away by their recent results before the trip to Katsina United. The People’s Elephant visit the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium on Friday for an NPFL Matchday 8 game. FootballInNigeria.com.ng reports that the nine-time champions have won twice and drawn once in their last three league games.
Deutsch told the club’s media that the squad will keep its focus on the task at hand. “We will not be carried away by the results from our past three matches,” he said. He called the league a marathon and said Enyimba would take each game as it comes.
The coach said the team is ready for the match. Fans following the NPFL can read the Bet9ja promotion code explainer before kick-off.
Recovering from a bad start
Enyimba did not win any of their first five league games this season. The improvement since has been clear, and Deutsch says the players have responded well.
He insisted that professionalism is the key to staying on course. Distractions are normal in football, he said, but players who let them take over are not acting like professionals. When they focus on their duty, he added, results follow.

Katsina United’s test
Katsina United have not won in two league games, drawing 1-1 with both Rivers United and Inter Lagos.
They also face a FIFA deadline over a debt to former coach Tony Tope Bulus, according to Blueprint. That adds pressure on a club hoping for a home win.
What Friday could mean
A win would stretch Enyimba’s unbeaten run to four games and further ease the memory of their slow start. A defeat would hand Katsina United a much needed lift.

Deutsch wants a marathon, not a sprint. Friday is the next step in that plan.
