Ola Aina has set himself an ambitious personal target for the new season, revealing he wants at least five goal involvements for Nottingham Forest after ending last season without scoring a single goal.

The Super Eagles defender has already returned to pre-season training with Forest as preparations build toward Saturday’s friendly against Notts County.

Despite establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s most consistent full backs, Aina admitted his lack of end product last season had been frustrating. He made 28 appearances across all competitions without finding the net, though he did register an assist in Forest’s 2-1 Europa League defeat to Fenerbahce.

The former Chelsea academy graduate, who started his career as a winger before moving into defence, believes he has more to offer in the final third this season. Speaking during a live session on Twitch, Aina joked about needing divine intervention to hit his target, saying, “I need at least five. If I get five, I’ll be content.”

Known for his attacking runs from full back, Aina remains one of Forest’s most versatile players, capable of featuring on either flank or at centre-back when needed. He’ll be looking to carry that attacking intent into the new season as Forest prepare for another campaign across the Premier League and European competition.
