Chiamaka Nnadozie has capped a remarkable debut season in England by finishing as the goalkeeper with the highest save percentage in the 2025/26 Barclays Women’s Super League.
The Brighton & Hove Albion shot-stopper recorded a 74.7 per cent save rate, narrowly ahead of Chelsea’s Hannah Hampton on 74.6 per cent, with Manchester United’s Phallon Tullis Joyce completing the top three on 73.6 per cent.
Nnadozie joined Brighton from Paris FC on a free transfer in July 2025 and quickly established herself as one of the league’s finest goalkeepers. Across 19 league appearances, the 24 year old faced 83 shots on target and denied 62 of them, keeping six clean sheets and preventing an estimated 3.3 goals over the campaign.
Earlier in the season, she won the WSL’s Save of the Month award for a fingertip stop against Liverpool, a moment that also earned her a nomination for the league’s Save of the Season honour. She was similarly influential in Brighton’s run to their first ever Women’s FA Cup final, making six crucial saves in a narrow defeat to Manchester City at Wembley.
The season adds to an already strong year for Nnadozie, who was named CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year for a record third consecutive time and finished fourth in the race for the Yashin Trophy. She has now switched her attention to international duty, linking up with the Super Falcons in Morocco as Nigeria prepares to chase a record-extending 11th WAFCON title.
