Calvin Bassey in action for Fulham

Fulham are working on a new contract for Nigeria international Calvin Bassey as the club looks to tie down one of its key defenders for the long term.

Existing Deal And New Terms

Bassey currently has a year left on his contract at Craven Cottage, though Fulham hold an option to trigger a further one year extension that would keep him at the club until the summer of 2028. Reports indicate the Cottagers are now prepared to go further and offer the 26 year old centre back a fresh long term deal to secure his future.

A Key Figure At The Back

Bassey has grown into one of the Premier League’s most dependable defenders since his move from Ajax in July 2023, and was named Fulham’s Player of the Season for 2024/25. He has started all three of the club’s league matches so far this season under new manager Alvaro Arbeloa, taking his total appearances for Fulham across all competitions to 105.
