Samuel Chukwueze received a solid individual rating following AC Milan’s 2-2 comeback draw against Lazio on Saturday, with the Super Eagles winger starting and playing the full 90 minutes as Milan continued their strong start to the Serie A season.
A Six Out Of Ten Grade
Italian outlet Sempre Milan rated Chukwueze six out of ten for his performance, noting that he caused Lazio problems down the flank, though it felt his end product could have been sharper, particularly in the first half, and that his tracking back was not at its best for Lazio’s opener.
A Game Of Twists
Lazio led 2-0 at the break through Matteo Cancellieri’s early strike and a Tijjani Noslin finish, before Milan turned things around after a trio of half time changes, including the introductions of Christian Pulisic and Diego Moreira. Moreira struck twice in quick succession to rescue a point, first with a volley from a Pulisic cross and then with a strike from the edge of the box.
The draw ended Lazio’s perfect start to the season, leaving them on 10 points, while Milan remain unbeaten on eight points.
A Contract Reward In Sight
Chukwueze’s form has been a feature of Milan’s early campaign under new head coach Ruben Amorim, who kept faith with the winger despite uncertainty following his loan spell at Fulham. Amorim has valued his one on one ability, pace and versatility, deploying him mainly as a wing-back rather than in his more familiar winger role, and reports suggest the club is now working on a new contract to reward his revival at San Siro.
