Having recovered from previous injury setbacks, Aina spoke about Nottingham Forest’s transition under new management, describing the process as still a work in progress but one that is improving with each match. He said his hope is that the team avoids a relegation battle and instead pushes for a comfortable, secure position in the table, adding that playing good football and having a strong season overall is what matters most to him.

Aina also touched on the departure of fellow Nigerian Taiwo Awoniyi, who left Nottingham Forest for Coventry City, leaving him as the club’s sole Nigerian player. He said he sent Awoniyi a personal message on the day of the move to express how happy he was for him, and summed up his own outlook simply: “I just want to keep playing and enjoying my football.”
The 29 year old continues to be a regular for both club and country, and his comments reflect a player focused on consistency and longevity rather than external pressure.
