Josh Maja has completed his move to Ligue 1 club Le Havre on a free transfer, ending his search for a new club after leaving Championship side West Bromwich Albion.
The 27 year old has signed a one-year deal with an option to extend by a further year, and will wear the No. 9 shirt at the Stade Oceane.
The move marks a return to familiar surroundings for the former Sunderland forward, who previously enjoyed a successful spell in France with Girondins Bordeaux between January 2019 and June 2023. During his time with Les Girondins, Maja scored 25 goals in 85 league appearances, establishing himself as one of the club’s key attacking players before his move to West Brom.
Maja spent three seasons at West Bromwich Albion, where persistent injury problems disrupted much of his time at the club. Despite the setbacks, he still managed 17 goals in 64 Championship appearances for the Baggies. Le Havre will be hoping the experienced striker can rediscover his best form as they prepare for the new Ligue 1 campaign.
