Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare has said he is open to making his loan move to Ajax permanent after his match winning display against Atalanta in the UEFA Conference League. The Wolverhampton Wanderers loanee left the final decision to the two clubs, but made his feelings clear.
Arokodare came off the bench in the 66th minute at the Johan Cruijff Arena, scored the opening goal in the 87th minute and set up Abdellah Ouazane for a 93rd-minute second goal. The win gave Ajax their first Conference League points after an opening day loss at Hajduk Split. New Bet9ja users can claim the YOHAIG Bet9ja intro promo.
Speaking after the game, he said the future is a matter between Ajax and Wolves, and joked that Ajax should be told about it, adding that he would like a pay rise.
But he was clear on how he feels. “I love it here,” he said, adding that he has felt the love at the club from day one.
Arokodare joined Ajax on a season-long loan from Wolves on July 29, with the Dutch club holding an option to buy, reportedly worth between €18 million and €20 million.
He has also said he hopes not to remain a loan player for long, and that he plans to speak to Ajax technical director Jordi Cruijff soon. Football fans can read Bet9ja sign-up bonus guide for newcomers.
His form explains the interest: eight goals and three assists in 13 appearances for Ajax across all competitions this season. The goal against Atalanta was reportedly his 100th career goal.
Wolves, who signed him in September 2025 on a four-year deal worth about £23.4 million, are now in the English Championship, which could shape the negotiations.
Ajax head coach Michel praised him as a true team player who also lifts his team-mates’ mentality. Readers new to betting can see Bet9ja promotion code in plain language.
