Ola Aina helped launch Nottingham Forest’s new adidas away kit for the 2026/27 season, modelling the collegiate green strip as the club began pre-season with a tournament appearance against Udinese and Barcelona in Italy.

“Nottingham Forest is delighted to reveal its adidas Away Kit for the 2026/27 season,” the club said, describing a design that brings back the adidas trefoil logo and pays homage to the club’s name through its green colourway, featuring an all-over printed graphic, embroidered branding and tailored collar and cuff piping. The kit will be worn across Forest’s Men’s, Women’s and Academy teams throughout the campaign.

Supporters got their first look at the new strip in action on August 8, when Forest opened the inaugural Friuli Venezia Giulia tournament against Udinese Calcio at the Bluenergy Stadium, with a meeting against Barcelona also on the schedule as Oliver Glasner’s side ramp up their preparations. Aina’s role as a kit ambassador reflects just how central he’s become to the club since arriving on a free transfer in 2023. He scored his first Forest goal in a 2-0 win over Aston Villa that same season, added another in a 3-0 win over West Ham the following year that helped push Forest to third in the table, and was rewarded with a contract extension through to the summer of 2028 after a string of impressive campaigns.

His path to Nottingham has taken in some of European football’s biggest academies and leagues. Aina came through a decade at Chelsea’s Cobham academy, winning the Under-21 Premier League and two FA Youth Cups, before loan spells at Hull City and Torino eventually led to a permanent move to the Italian club, where he made 113 appearances across five seasons. A loan spell at Fulham in between also produced one of the highlights of his career, a long range strike against West Bromwich Albion that was later named the Premier League’s Goal of the Month, making him only the third Fulham player to win the award.

On the international stage, Aina’s story carries extra significance for Nigerian fans. Born in London and capped by England up to Under-20 level, he switched his allegiance to Nigeria in 2017 and has since gone on to earn more than 40 caps, featuring at three separate Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and earning a spot in the Team of the Tournament after Nigeria’s run to the 2023 AFCON final. Now 29 and firmly established as a first-team regular, Aina’s versatility across both full back positions and wing back has made him one of the more reliable names in Nigeria’s squad, and a genuine leader in Forest’s dressing room heading into a season the club will hope builds on recent Premier League progress.
