Nigeria international Chidera Ejuke was on the pitch as Sevilla returned to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 victory over Valencia on Friday in La Liga. Ejuke came on in the 63rd minute for his fifth league appearance of the season.
Iglesias Header Breaks The Deadlock
Sevilla had gone into the match without a win in their previous two outings, losing one and drawing another, while Valencia were without the injured Umar Sadiq for the trip. After a tightly contested match, the breakthrough came in the 81st minute when Giorgi Kochorashvili whipped in a free-kick from a wide position and Juan Iglesias rose above his marker to power a header past goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski.
Sevilla Move Into Third
The win moves Sevilla up to 10 points from five matches, with three wins, a draw and a defeat so far, putting them third in the early La Liga standings. Valencia, meanwhile, remain in the midst of a difficult start to the season and will be looking to bounce back from the setback in their next fixture.
