As the Super Eagles of Nigeria prepare for their World Cup campaign, Nigerian referees are also playing a significant role in the qualifying matches. Dr. Ogabor Joseph Odey, a University of Calabar lecturer and FIFA badged referee from the Cross River State Council, is leading a team of three other international referees for a World Cup qualifier in Morocco, featuring Gambia and Seychelles.
Ogabor will be supported by Samuel Pwadutakam, an elite assistant referee from the Adamawa Council, as Assistant Referee 1, and Hope Ogenekewe Igho from Lagos as Assistant Referee 2. The Fourth Official is Abdulahi Abubakar from the Niger State Council. The refereeing team will be assessed by Togolese Koniyo Kori, with Saquece Prinei Kai from Sierra Leone serving as the Match Commissioner. The match is scheduled for 17:00 hours on June 8, 2024.
