It marked Nigeria’s second win in four meetings with England at the U-20 Women’s World Cup, with the other two encounters ending in draws.

The Confederation of African Football celebrated the win on its official X account, declaring Nigeria bound for the quarter finals and praising the team’s delivery against England to reach the tournament’s last eight.
Colombia Await In The Quarter-Finals
The Falconets will now face Colombia in the quarter finals, after the South Americans edged out tournament hosts Poland on the same day. Nigeria and Colombia have met only once before at this level, in the semi final of the 2010 edition, when Ebere Orii’s second-minute strike secured a 1-0 win for the Falconets.
