Millwall winger Femi Azeez has been named in the Professional Footballers’ Association Championship Team of the Year following an outstanding 2025/26 campaign.
The 24 year old was rewarded for a season in which he scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in 37 league appearances, form that made him one of the Championship’s standout performers and helped fuel Millwall’s push for promotion to the Premier League. Alex Neil’s side eventually saw their hopes ended by Hull City in the play off semi finals, but Azeez’s individual campaign was recognised regardless. His Millwall teammate Tristan Crama was also included in the Team of the Year.
A Dream Debut For Nigeria
Azeez’s club form also translated onto the international stage. The former Reading forward made his senior Super Eagles debut in memorable fashion, scoring twice against Jamaica at the 2026 Unity Cup in May.
A Season Of Transfer Speculation
The honour comes at the end of a summer defined almost as much by transfer talk as by results, with Hull City leading interest in Azeez and Millwall reportedly demanding a fee in the region of £30 million to let him go. A hamstring strain briefly sidelined him earlier this month, ruling him out of Millwall’s clash with Norwich City, but the individual recognition confirms just how central he has become to Millwall’s plans, whatever happens with his future this window.
