Napoli Women have announced the signing of Super Falcons defender Chidinma Okeke. The 26 year old joins the Italian side from Mexican club America Femenil on a two-year contract.
Okeke Settling In Quickly
Speaking to the club’s official website, Okeke said, “I’m happy with my first few days here,” describing her early experience meeting the coach, staff and teammates as fantastic, and setting her sights on giving everything alongside the team this season.
A Successful Spell In Mexico
The versatile defender spent two seasons with America Femenil after arriving from Japanese side Mynavi Sendai Ladies in 2024, and helped the Mexican club win the CONCACAF Champions Cup in the 2025/26 season.
A Long International Journey
Okeke’s international career began with Nigeria’s U-17 and U-20 sides before she progressed to the senior Super Falcons. She represented the Flamingos at the 2016 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and was part of Nigeria’s squad at the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. She went on to earn a place in the Super Falcons squad for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup and later featured for Nigeria at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
