Shooting Stars players departing for Tunisia

Shooting Stars have left Nigeria for Tunisia ahead of the decisive second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup first preliminary round tie against CS Sfaxien. The Oluyole Warriors departed Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Wednesday, travelling via Casablanca as they continue preparations for Sunday’s clash.

A Rare Continental Away Trip

The journey marks the club’s first away fixture in continental competition in 27 years, adding extra significance to the tie. The return leg takes place at the Stade Taieb Mhiri in Sfax on Sunday, with kick off set for 6pm Nigerian time.

Narrow First-Leg Advantage To Protect

Salisu Yusuf’s side head into the second leg with a slender 1-0 lead from the first meeting at the Moshood Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta, where Emmanuel Lucky scored the only goal of the game.

El-Kanemi Warriors In Stronger Position

Elsewhere in the competition, Nigeria’s other representatives, El-Kanemi Warriors, are sitting on a more commanding advantage after a 3-0 first leg win over Guinea-Bissau’s UDIB.
