Kelechi Iheanacho has said goodbye to Celtic in an emotional social media post, closing the book on his single season with the club following his permanent move to Turkish side Bursaspor.

Iheanacho spent the 2025/26 campaign at Parkhead, playing a key role as the Hoops secured a domestic double by winning the Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup. The 29 year old found the net nine times across all competitions during his lone season in Glasgow, contributing several important goals along the way. With his contract expiring at the end of the campaign, he completed a free transfer to Bursaspor.

Posting on Instagram, Iheanacho reflected on the season as something truly special and said he would always be grateful for the chance to represent Celtic. He thanked Brendan Rodgers for bringing him to the club, along with Martin O’Neill and his coaching staff for their support through the year. He also had warm words for his former teammates, saying he would miss them, and thanked supporters for their backing throughout the season, wishing the club well for the campaign ahead.
