Super Eagles winger Chidera Ejuke has been left out of Sevilla’s pre-season friendlies as the Spanish club looks to sort out his future before the transfer window closes.
According to Spanish outlet AS, Ejuke has continued training with Sevilla’s first team but has been excluded from matches in what appears to be an effort to expedite his departure this summer. The winger still has a year left on his contract, meaning Sevilla risk losing him for free if he isn’t sold before it expires.
He has been linked with a wide range of destinations, including clubs in Major League Soccer, Belgium, and the Gulf states of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
Ejuke joined Sevilla as a free agent in the summer of 2024 after his contract with Russian Premier League side CSKA Moscow expired. The former Hertha Berlin player registered one goal and one assist in 27 appearances for the Rojiblancos last season.
His Nigerian teammate Akor Adams has already departed Sevilla, completing a move to newly promoted Serie A side Venezia earlier in the window.
