NNL: El-Kanemi Warriors Name Emmanuel King Technical Adviser
The new coach replaces Kabiru Dogo, who left for Niger Tornadoes after guiding the Borno Army to Federation Cup glory despite the club’s relegation from the NPFL.

El-Kanemi Warriors have officially unveiled Emmanuel King as their new technical adviser ahead of the 2026/27 season, with the ceremony held at the Colonel Abdulmumin Aminu Camp in Maiduguri.
Emmanuel replaces Kabiru Dogo, who left the club at the end of last season after guiding the Borno Army to victory in the 2026 President Federation Cup. Dogo has since been appointed head coach of Niger Tornadoes.
Despite lifting the Federation Cup, El-Kanemi Warriors were relegated from the NPFL last season and will play in the Nigeria National League this coming campaign. Club management has tasked Emmanuel with securing an immediate return to the NPFL, while also leading the team in the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup, a competition the club qualified for by winning the Federation Cup.
Speaking at the unveiling, Emmanuel thanked the Borno State Government for the opportunity and pledged that the club will work hard to return to the NPFL next season, saying, “we will also give our very best in the CAF Confederation Cup.”
