Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare has reportedly clashed with Wolverhampton Wanderers’ coaching staff, according to Wolves journalist Nathan Judah.

Judah reported that the Nigerian forward refused to leave the training pitch after being told he would not train with the first team, an incident that reportedly led to the cancellation of a session at the club’s Compton Park training ground. Judah also claimed extra security was brought in to prevent Arokodare from returning to the facility, and that the 25 year old is expected to miss Wolves’ upcoming match against Maidenhead United. Neither Wolves nor Arokodare has commented on the reports.

The incident lands amid mounting transfer speculation surrounding the striker. Fabrizio Romano has reported that Italian club Fiorentina have submitted an offer worth around £22 million, believed to be an initial loan with an option or obligation to buy, while clubs in Belgium, France, and Turkey have also shown interest.

If confirmed, this would not be Arokodare’s first disciplinary episode at Wolves. He was reportedly involved in a dressing room clash with teammate Mateus Mane last season, a matter former manager Rob Edwards said had been resolved internally at the time.

New Wolves manager Cesar Peixoto has made discipline one of his stated priorities since taking charge, saying he expects high standards, responsibility, and teamwork from every player in his squad.

The reports have also drawn attention to FIFA’s updated player protection rules, which prohibit clubs from isolating contracted players from first team involvement purely to pressure them into accepting a transfer, unless there is a genuine sporting or medical reason. There is no evidence Wolves have breached these rules, though the situation could attract scrutiny under the regulations if the reports are confirmed and no valid reason for his exclusion emerges.

Arokodare joined Wolves from Belgian club Genk in the summer of 2025 and scored six goals in 38 appearances during a debut season that ended in relegation from the Premier League. He has also fallen out of the Super Eagles squad under head coach Eric Chelle.
