Karim Adeyemi Fined €450,000 in Germany for Illegal Weapons Possession

Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi has been hit with a €450,000 fine after German authorities found a pair of prohibited weapons in his possession, according to reports.

The weapons in question were a brass knuckle and a taser, items that are outlawed under German weapons legislation.  Prosecutors issued a so-called Strafbefehl (criminal order), allowing Adeyemi to avoid a public trial in exchange for the hefty fine.

The fine was calculated as 60 daily rates of €7,500, reflecting his earnings.  The order became legally binding on 30 October 2025, according to Chief Public Prosecutor Michael Burggräf.

While the case will be registered in Germany’s Federal Central Register, Adeyemi will not receive a criminal conviction, as that only happens when 90 daily fines are imposed.

In his defence, Adeyemi’s legal team stated the items came from a “mystery box” ordered via TikTok — but did not provide further details. Borussia Dortmund, for their part, has affirmed that they take the matter seriously, handling it “confidentially” with the player.

Germany national team coach Julian Nagelsmann said he has discussed the issue with Adeyemi, but stressed his focus remains on their upcoming World Cup qualifying match.
