After a disappointing Federation Cup exit at the hands of Bayelsa United, Basira FC bounced back emphatically with a 3-1 win over Kada Warriors in their latest Nigeria National League NNL encounter. The Lafia-based side overturned an early deficit to claim all three points and rise to the top of NNL Conference D.
The visitors struck first in the 16th minute when Haruna Abubakar latched onto a cross from Daniels to beat Basira goalkeeper Silas Panshak. Basira responded swiftly, mounting pressure with chances from Ibrahim Adamu, Chigozie Ani, and Usman Usman before finally drawing level in the 28th minute. Mamuda Mohammed headed in Kim Pwajok’s accurate delivery to restore parity going into halftime.
Mamuda continued his dominance in the second half, scoring again in the 56th minute with another powerful header to put Basira ahead. The home side sealed the win in the 75th minute, courtesy of a composed finish from Sunday Aluku.
The result sees Coach Aminu Musa’s team move to 13 points from eight matches, topping Conference D and boosting their playoff hopes. Their next fixture is away to Adamawa United on April 12 at Makwada Stadium.
