Nigerian wonderkid Emmanuel Uchegbu has completed a move to MLS side Charlotte FC, snubbing offers from Ajax, PSV Eindhoven, and KAA Gent.
The 20 year old forward, previously with AS Trencin, has signed a multi year contract with Charlotte FC after passing his medicals in Europe. He is expected to travel to the United States in the coming days to begin his new chapter in the American top flight.
Uchegbu, nicknamed the “Nigerian Arjen Robben”, gained attention for his spectacular goals and dribbling ability. He was closely monitored by Ajax scouts, who witnessed his stunning long-range goal in AS Trencin’s 3-3 draw with DAC Dunajska. However, Charlotte FC moved swiftly to secure his signature, beating some of Europe’s biggest clubs to the deal.
This season, Uchegbu recorded five goals and one assist in 22 appearances across all competitions for AS Trencin, further solidifying his reputation as one of Nigeria’s most promising attacking talents.
