Edo Queens booked their place in the final of the WAFU B Women’s Champions League with a commanding 5-1 win over hosts USFA in Wednesday’s semi final.
Atume Doosuur put the Nigerian champions ahead in the 17th minute, before Chioma Moses doubled the lead two minutes before the break. Valentina Uroko added a third with a superb long-range free kick in first half stoppage time, putting Edo Queens firmly in control at the interval.
A Ruthless Second Half
Edo Queens continued to dominate after the restart, with Doshima Tarnum making it four shortly after play resumed. Aminat Folorunsho completed the rout two minutes past the hour mark to make it 5-0. USFA grabbed a late consolation from a free-kick, but it did little to take the shine off a commanding performance from the visitors.
A Final Awaits
Edo Queens will face the winner of the other semi-final between Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa and Benin Republic’s Dynamique FC in the final, with a place at the CAF Women’s Champions League on the line.
