Nigerian forwards Olamide Bolaji and Joy Omewa scored five goals between them in league games abroad this weekend. Bolaji struck three times in Saudi Arabia, and Omewa added two in Sweden.
Bolaji scored a hat trick for Al-Shams in a 5-4 win over Eastern Flames in the Saudi Women’s First Division. She completed her treble late in the game, which helped Al-Shams hold on in a match that produced nine goals.
The performance extends a fast start at her new club. Bolaji now has five goals in three appearances.

Omewa Starts Fast in Sweden
In Sweden, BK Häcken beat IK Uppsala 9-0 in the Damallsvenskan. Omewa needed only 17 minutes to score twice, in the 10th and 17th minutes, as Häcken took control early.
It was her first home start for the club since joining. The two goals took her total for Häcken to three.

Nigerian Attackers Making Noise
Bolaji built her name as a prolific scorer in the Nigeria Women’s Football League before moving abroad. Omewa continues to build her career in Sweden, and both players are showing strong goalscoring form at club level.
For Nigeria, there is an added reason to watch. Omewa is among the forwards expected in the Super Falcons’ camp for the 2028 Olympic qualifier against Comoros, so her confidence matters.
The challenge now is consistency. Can Bolaji keep scoring at this rate, and will Omewa’s first home start turn into a regular place in Häcken’s line-up?
