Kennedy Boboye will take charge of Edo Queens at the 2026 WAFU B Women’s Champions League in Burkina Faso.

Boboye steps in for Edo Queens’ substantive head coach, Moses Aduku, who is currently away on national duty. Aduku, who also serves as head coach of Nigeria’s Under-20 women’s team, the Falconets, will be leading that side at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland next month, making him unavailable for Edo Queens’ continental opener.

An Experienced Hand For A Big Assignment

Boboye brings a wealth of coaching experience to the role as Edo Queens begin their quest for continental glory. The Benin City club have been drawn in Group B alongside Cote d’Ivoire’s ASEC Mimosas, Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa FC and AS Garde Nationale of Niger Republic.

Defending A Title Won On Debut

Edo Queens will be aiming to win the WAFU B Women’s Champions League for a second time, having claimed the title on their maiden appearance two years ago. The regional competition, running in Burkina Faso from Sunday, 23 August to Saturday, 5 September, serves as the qualifying tournament for the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League.
