Speaking to FIFA.com afterward, Aznar said a winning start at a tournament of this level always matters, since it keeps a team’s fate in its own hands heading into the remaining group games. He acknowledged that Nigeria made things difficult given their physical strength, and said his side had to work extremely hard for the win.
