Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi has completed a postgraduate programme at the PFA Business School, graduating with Merit in the Postgraduate Diploma in Global Football Sport Directorship.
A Proud Milestone Off The Pitch
The 29 year old described the achievement as another proud moment away from football, sharing the news on Instagram. He said education has always been an important part of his journey, adding that being a footballer shouldn’t stop anyone from also being a student of the game, and closed by saying he is still playing, still learning, with the journey continuing.
From Imperial Academy To The Premier League
Awoniyi began his professional career at Imperial Academy in Nigeria before joining Liverpool in 2015. He has since turned out for several European clubs, including Union Berlin and Nottingham Forest, and has also represented Nigeria at senior international level. He currently plays for Coventry City, having joined the Premier League club from Nottingham Forest in August 2026.
