Plateau United forward Gideon Monday says he is very happy to have scored against his former club Shooting Stars of Ibadan, helping the Peace Boys complete a spirited comeback to win 3-1 in their matchday four NPFL clash.
A Comeback Capped By A Former Player
Plateau United found themselves behind at half-time but roared back in the second half to seal the win. Monday, who spent two years at Shooting Stars between 2023 and 2025, sealed the victory in the 87th minute with a well placed header from a cross, making it 3-1 and marking his first goal of the season for Gbenga Ogunbote’s side.

Speaking after the match, Monday said he was happy both with the win and with getting off the mark for the season, adding that scoring against his former club made the moment feel especially good, and that he simply met the cross when it came and found the net.
