Friday night in Katsina
Katsina United host Enyimba in an NPFL Matchday 8 game at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium on Friday. It will be the second Friday night fixture of the 2026/27 season. FootballInNigeria.com.ng reports that Shooting Stars beat Inter Lagos 2-1 in the first.

Katsina United’s form
The Chanji Boys have not won in their last two league games. They drew 1-1 with Rivers United and then drew 1-1 with Inter Lagos last weekend.
Off the pitch, the club is under pressure from FIFA. Blueprint reports that FIFA has ordered Katsina United to pay former coach Tony Tope Bulus N28 million, after a CAS ruling on June 30, 2026, plus a $5,000 fine for failing to comply earlier. The club has 15 days to pay or risk a ban on registering new players.
Supporters planning to back the home side can look at the YOHAIG Bet9ja sign-up code before the match.
Enyimba’s upturn
Enyimba have found form after a difficult start to the season. Emmanuel Deutsch’s side are unbeaten in their last three league games, with two wins and a draw.
Deutsch took charge in February 2026, when Abia State governor Alex Otti unveiled him at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba. In May, with two games left last season, Enyimba were 11th, three points above the drop zone.
The nine time champions have much bigger ambitions than that. Fans following the NPFL can read the Bet9ja promotion code breakdown before the weekend.
What to expect
Katsina United will fancy their chances on home soil, but they need a win badly. Enyimba will want to extend their unbeaten run, which would give Deutsch plenty to smile about.
Can the Chanji Boys end their winless run before the FIFA deadline puts more pressure on the club? Friday should tell us a lot.
