Kano Pillars Begin Pre-Season Preparations Ahead of 2026/27 NPFL Campaign

Kano Pillars have officially kicked off preparations for the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League season, holding their opening pre-season session at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano on Monday morning.
The training was overseen by the club’s technical staff, led by Ahmed Garba Yaro Yaro alongside assistant coach Gambo Muhammad and goalkeepers’ trainer Suleiman Shuaibu, ahead of the arrival of the club’s new man in charge.
Daniel Ogunmodede, who signed a two year contract with the club last week after departing Remo Stars, is expected to join the squad in Kano this week to begin work with his new team.
The new season carries extra weight for Kano Pillars after a difficult 2025/26 campaign in which the club narrowly avoided relegation. With pre-season now underway, the Sai Masu Gida are targeting a return to form strong enough to challenge for the NPFL title and secure a place in continental competition.
