Bendel Insurance’s media officer, Kehinde Osagiede, says Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium has become an impenetrable fortress for visiting teams. His claim follows the Benin Arsenal’s 4-1 win over Barau FC in the NPFL on Sunday.
Kayode Oke scored twice, and Suraju Lawal and Jonathan James added one each. The result ended Barau FC’s unbeaten run in style.

A Fortress in Benin City
Osagiede told Complete Sports that Insurance produced their best game of the season and that everything worked. In his words, “Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium has become a fortress,” and he believes visitors will find it difficult to survive there.
He says Barau FC arrived well prepared and hoped to shock the hosts. The players rose to the occasion, he adds, and brought the unbeaten run to an end.

What Next for Insurance?
Home form wins titles in the NPFL, where long away trips are tough on visiting sides. Can Insurance keep the fortress intact through a long season?
The squad’s confidence will be high after a performance like this. Oke’s brace shows the attack is clicking, and the goals are coming from several players, which makes the team harder to stop.
Still, a fortress is only as strong as its last result. Insurance must prove they can win away from Benin City before any talk of a title challenge begins.
