Trabzonspor head coach Fatih Tekke has urged patience with Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu, who is yet to score this season following a prolific 2025/26 campaign.

Onuachu was one of Trabzonspor’s standout performers last term, finishing with 26 goals across all competitions for the Black Sea Storm. That form has not carried over into the start of the new season, but Tekke is confident it will return.

“Let’s Be Patient With Paul”

Speaking to karadenizgazete.com.tr, Tekke pushed back against any suggestion that Onuachu’s slow start was cause for concern, pointing to his 26 goals last season as evidence that the underlying quality hasn’t gone anywhere. He asked for patience even through a couple of quiet games, noting that players carry emotions and personal challenges that outsiders rarely see, and that Onuachu’s application in training had been there despite the lack of goals on the pitch.

Tekke said he had no doubt the goals would return, adding that Onuachu deserved credit rather than criticism given everything he had already delivered for the club.
