Atalanta’s fast start
Atalanta, who had lost their previous three league games, made a flying start. Franck Kessie opened the scoring in the 4th minute, racing onto Nikola Krstovic’s pass and dinking the ball over Filip Stankovic.
Atalanta added a second from Eljif Elmas’s corner three minutes later. Krstovic then completed his brace in the 31st minute, pouncing on a rebound after Stankovic parried Jonathan Rowe’s effort.
Antoine Hainaut pulled one back for Venezia in the 37th minute, nodding in Richie Sagrado’s cross. It was a small consolation for the visitors.
